Our Lakes

Many of our 18,000 residents agree that the most outstanding feature in the neighborhood is the lakes. In fact, Dobson Ranch is the largest lake community in Mesa, AZ. Out of 100 acres of common areas, 78 acres are comprised of the lakes.

We have seven artificial lakes throughout the Ranch where there are walking paths, catch and release fishing and boating. Fishing and boating licenses are required. These are available at our Recreation Department at La Casita.

Feeding of wildlife (fish, fowl, feral cats or turtles) is not permitted in the common areas/lakes.

The “Know Your Lakes Presentation” introduces you to the 10 Dobson Ranch Lakes with a surface area of 86 acres. These lakes were originally designed in the Master Planning of the Dobson Ranch Community. The lakes provide recreation opportunities, enhanced value to homes, and provides a practical solution for surface drainage. In the presentation below, it lists a variety of specific details and information for the lakes, as well as information regarding the Dobson Ranch Water Conservation Program.

MONTHLY TESTING RESULTS

The Lakes in Dobson Ranch are tested monthly to monitor water quality and aquatic life. These tests are done by Dr. Amalfi with Aquatic Consulting and Testing, Inc. These tests inform The Dobson Association on whether we need to treat our lakes for harmful algae, find out what types of fish need to be stocked, and the overall health of each lake. This information is reviewed by our Water and Lake Management Committee who then make recommendations to the Board of Directors as needed. Below you can read the latest testing results.

Rentals

DOBSON RANCH ASSOCIATION RENTALS

The recreation facility located at La Casita Recreation Center has four spaces available to rent, two indoors and two outdoors. The Chica Room and Grande Room are indoors - the Sunset Plaza and Entertainment Area are outdoors. All rentals are subject to availability and must be approved by the Dobson Ranch Recreation Department.

PLEASE NOTE: Currently, reservations for the Laguna Park Ramada and tables and chairs are unavailable, but will be coming soon!

INSTRUCTIONS: ALL RESERVATION CAN ONLY BE MADE ONLINE THROUGH RecDesk (Link is below instructions)

Create an account by clicking on the RecDesk tab on www.dobsonranchhoa.com Home page. Or Click Here!
Once an account has been created, click on “FACILITIES” tab at the top.
Choose the “RENTALS” tab.
Click on the “RESERVE” tab corresponding to the room you would like to reserve.
Next, click on the calendar date (if space is unavailable - the green reserve sign will not show)
Complete Member Name, Description of Use, and Group Size information
Select either a 3-hour, 6-hour, 9-hour or 12-hour rental time slot and click on the “green + sign” Then “Add to Cart.”
If you are serving beer, wine or alcohol; click on the Add New Registration tab at the bottom of the Shopping Cart.
Click on Facilities tab again – and it will take you back to the rental page where you then click on the top tab Beer, Wine & Alcohol Fee, then Add to Cart.
Once the Shopping Cart is complete; “Go to Check Out.”
Next, “Accept Waiver” of 3% convenience fee.
Complete Room Rental Questionnaire, Upload Room Layout Forms and Documents, and complete the Facilities Rental Contract.
Then click “I have Completed All Forms.”
No payment is due until the reservation is Approved. Click Continue.
Checkout Complete – You will receive a Pending Reservation email so that you know your reservation is in processing. Please allow up to 72 hours for the approval process to be complete.
You will be notified via email when your reservation is “Approved.” An invoice will also be sent to you via email – where you can make payment directly. You have up to 2 weeks from the date of approval to make payment and submit all documentation for the reservation to be Confirmed.

Laguna Park

Laguna Park is the main community park in Dobson Ranch, located at 2455 W. Laguna Azul. Many special events such as Bark in the Park are held year-round at Laguna Park by the Dobson Ranch Recreation Department.

The park also provides outdoor exercise equipment, pathways, benches, boat docks, a large playground, lake views, practice disc golf, and a large open grass area. The park also boasts a ramada with picnic benches, a water fountain, and a charcoal grill.

Activities:

The center offers one Junior Olympic lap pool, one regular 8 foot deep pool, one lighted tennis court, two pickelball courts, a basketball court, playground, picnic area and lakefront with boat docks. Restrooms are provided within the facility.

The Los Altos Recreation Center is perfect for pool parties, family reunions and other large get-togethers. This is strictly an outdoor facility. All outside facilities are on a first-come, first-serve basis. This includes the park Ramada’s and pool Ramada’s. The Dobson Dolphins swim team practices at this facility during the summer from 6:00 am - 12:00 pm Tuesday - Friday with swim meets on two Saturdays (dates TBD). Please see the teams schedule on our event calendar.

NOTE: The Recreation Department does ask if you are planning a large get together please contact them at 480-831-7464 to have your party information on file. Please see the Ramada and park rental form that must be filled out for the recreation department to have on file.

NOTE: A Fob is required to enter this facility. One resident can have up to 4 guests with them at a time.

Saratoga

Our Saratoga Recreation Center, located at 2345 S. Saratoga, has a swimming pool, outdoor fireplace, two lighted tennis courts, a basketball court, a playground, a picnic area, and a lakefront park with boat docks. Restrooms are located within the fenced pool area. The meeting room has laminate flooring and has large windows that look out over the pool. A FOB is required to enter this facility. One resident can have up to 4 guests with them at a time.

The Saratoga Recreation Center is suitable for small to medium-size business meetings, luncheons, socials, and parties. To reserve this space, please call the Recreation Department at 480-831-7464 to check availability.

The La Casita Pool is currently open.

The La Casita Recreation Center houses the Recreation Department and Management Offices and is located at 2719 S. Reyes.

Indoors, two multi-purpose rooms are available. A divider wall can be retracted to combine the larger Grande Room with the smaller adjacent Chica Room. Both rooms have a wood floor perfect for dancing. The Grande Room is equipped with a kitchen for warming food and features a double sink, electric range, microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher and granite countertops. A large pass-through window allows food to be easily served from the kitchen to the Grande Room.

Outdoors, the facility has a fenced Junior Olympic-size swimming pool and water splash pad, and a shaded grass play area with playground equipment. La Casita also has four tennis court and two racquetball courts all lighted for nighttime enjoyment. Sunset Plaza features a lighted stage area, overhead misters, and plenty of room for tables and chairs, and can be rented for special occasions. A FOB is required to enter this facility. One resident can have up to 4 guests with them at a time.
