There are seven man-made lakes located on Dobson Ranch. All are regularly maintained by the homeowners association for the use of Ranch residents and their guests.
The lake adjacent to the municipal golf course and library park, although connected to the Dobson Ranch series of lakes, is owned by the City of Mesa and is open to the public
Bass and other game fish are stocked each year for the enjoyment of Ranch anglers. An individual resident fishing permit is $5.00 annually and a family permit (good for unlimited family members) is $10.00 annually. Non-resident fishing permits are $10.00 per individual and $20.00 per family. Children under the age of 7 who are accompanied by an adult with a valid Dobson Ranch permit do not need a fishing permit. There is a limit of one fishing line per person and two hooks per line. Unattended lines are not allowed.
Since 2011, we have been following the catch and release program for all fishing on our lakes.
Tilapia and White Amur are also stocked because of their voracious appetites for algae and weeds. If you should happen to catch one, please gently release it back into the water to help maintain the proper ecological balance.
Swimming: For the health and safety of residents swimming, stand up paddle boards, windsurfing and wading in the lakes are not allowed.
Aquatic Life: Many turtles live on our lakes with special habitats built for them a safe distance from the shore. The lakes are home to resident and migratory ducks, water fowl and geese.
Please do not feed the aquatic life!

Pickleball Courts at Los Altos are closed from 7am to 4pm the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month for cleaning.
All other courts are closed from 7am to 4pm the 3rd Tuesday of each month for cleaning.
Apart from the reserved times for the Dobson Ranch Pickleball Club as shown on the chart below, we want to inform you about an exciting change in our pickleball court reservation process. We recently transitioned to a first-come, first-serve system for pickleball court usage.
We have noticed the growing popularity of pickleball among our community, and we believe that adopting a first-come, first-serve approach will ensure fair and equal access for everyone. This change will allow all pickleball enthusiasts to enjoy the courts without the need for reservations.
By removing the reservation system, we aim to create a more flexible environment where players can spontaneously engage in friendly matches, meet new people, and have a great time.
If you have any questions or require further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Recreation Center at (480) 831-7464 or via email at recreationdobson@nulldobsonranch.com. We’re here to assist you and ensure your pickleball experience remains enjoyable. Thank you for being a part of our vibrant pickleball community, and we look forward to seeing you on the courts soon!
